I just found a place where I could buy Tria markers. They totally rock! I can't wait to actually buy some...real colors o__O Anyway, I've only worked with really cheap and terrible markers before, so I was wondering who else uses Trias, and if they have any tips or stuff? Because I'm pretty terrible right now ^^;

Anyway, here's a tria pic that JPG ate...I totally fucked up the coloring on the shirt. Soo, any advice?

What's Tri? ::intrigued::
I have some Copic markers, which are probably similar, but I doubt I can give you much tippage since I don't use them super often ^^;; (must... conserve... expensive...markers! #_#) Light colours are the easiest to use since they don't streak as easily... brighter colours, my method is to as quick as possible on the first layer, then colour over that and leave the first layer as a highlight, and then colour over that again for shadows... if it's still looking scary, i have a pigmentless blending marker, but it doesn't make a super difference ^^;;
What kind of paper are you using too? The first year I got them (I always get them at AnimeExpo ^^;;), I just got a tiny tiny set, and the second year I got another small one, but the guy at the booth remembered me, so he gave me some pretty marker paper, which actually made a big difference! So yea, I've seen some art art stores too, so go to one and grab a pad of that, it really helps since it's less absorbant! ^^

And meanwhile I REALLY like that bg on the pic you drew! @_@ (it's simple... but... im not sure, but i'm totally enamoured by it!! XD)

Ahh, Tria markers are alcohol based markers so they blend really well, and can almost look like water colors! Before I used them and I saw stuff other people had done I was super impressed...but after you use them, it almost feels like cheating! So now I'm just generally impressed =)

As for paper I've been using inkjet...the picture I scanned was on sketchbook paper, which didn't work as well. Marker paper exists? Is it expensive? I'm sure Utrecht'll have some and I need more markers anyway ^^; Expensivve...
